ENTRY NO. 0252 EXAMINED 2026-10-14 ONE CONFIGURATION ON FILE

LMOL

exclamation laughing variant
Laughing my own laughs; a self-amused take on LMAO that emphasizes personal amusement over shared humor.
1

Variations

  • LMOLZ
  • lmol lol
  • LMOLing
2

Origin

Likely a keyboard-adjacent mutation of LMAO, swapping 'ass off' for 'own laugh' — possibly intentional wordplay, possibly just someone's thumb slipping on autocorrect and the joke writing itself.

Examples

"He sent a meme so niche only he got it and replied 'lmol'."
"I don't need you to laugh, I'm just over here lmol at my own joke."
"She captioned the selfie 'lmol, don't ask' and left it at that."
4

Cultural context

Used when the humor is self-contained — you're not inviting anyone else into the joke, just documenting that you found yourself funny. Works best in solo-flavored posts; using it in a group chat reads as faintly antisocial, which is sometimes the point.

STILL NOT IT?

If this is not the meaning you meant, the machine can run a fresh search and document the missing one.
